Grenada, the most southern tip of the Windward Islands, - situated 145 km north of Trinidad & Tobago, attracts visitors both for its beautiful landscape and for its unique cultural life.
Over the last years a small tourism-zone has developed near the capital city of St. George's, the other parts of the island have remained unspoilt and have kept their unique caribbean flair. Despite recent developments Grenada has managed to remain free of mass-tourism.
Many unspoilt beaches are scattered around the coastline, while in the center, up to 800 m high mountains can be found. The rainforests are located in this area and the conditions are perfect for the fruit, vegetable and spice-plantations. Grenada is known as "The Isles of Spice" and is also the second largest producer of nutmeg in the world. Grenada is one of the safest caribbean islands with a very low crime-rate. Preventive injections are not necessary. There are no poisonous insects or snakes to be found on the island.
